Starting November 4, Cathay Pacific will launch daily flights between Hong Kong and Changsha. Cathay Pacific will use Airbus A321neo aircraft on the route.
Changsha will be the fifth destination added by the Cathay Group in Mainland China this year, and the 24th in Cathay Group's network (Cathay Pacific and HK Express). Earlier this year, Cathay Pacific launched flights to Urumqi in April, and HK Express launched flights to Changzhou and Yiwu in May followed by Guiyang in July.
Additional Flights to Mainland China
In addition to the new route launch to Changsha, Cathay Pacific will increase its flights from Hong Kong to cities in Mainland China.
To Beijing, Cathay Pacific will increase its flights from seven to eight daily to Beijing Capital Airport. With a daily flight to Beijing Daxing Airport from Hong Kong operated by HK Express, the Cathay Group will offer a total of nine flights to/from Beijing.
Services to Shanghai Honquiao will be increased from 11 to 12 weekly flights. Along with the eight daily flights to Shanghai Pudong, Cathay Pacific will operate nearly 70 weekly flights between Hong Kong and Shanghai.
Other service increases by Cathay Pacific include flights to Guangzhou (two to three daily) and Chengdu (daily to twice-daily).
HK Express will operate two daily flights between Hong Kong and Harbin on October 17 and 22.
Combined, the Cathay Group carriers will operate more than 330 weekly return flights between Hong Kong and Mainland China during the winter season.
